About Us

Rainbow Patchwork Studio first opened in Lismore on Mother's Day in 2011. After 12 wonderful years, three major floods, the COVID-19 pandemic, and changing economic conditions, our Union Street store closed in July 2023.

Later that year, Rainbow Patchwork Studio began a new chapter, reopening as a quilting service and online store based in McLeans Ridges.

We're proud to continue providing quality quilting services, fabrics, and supplies to quilters across Australia.

Rainbow Patchwork Studio is the home of Karen's lifelong passion for patchwork and quilting, a journey that began in the 1990s. Over the years, she has developed extensive experience in quilt design, construction, and teaching, and continues to share that expertise from her studio in McLeans Ridges.

Every quilt displayed throughout the studio has been made by Karen, then professionally quilted on her Gammill longarm machine.

Rainbow Patchwork has always been dedicated to supporting quilters. While our original shop stocked more than 3,000 bolts of fabric, today our focus is on providing professional quilting services alongside a carefully selected range of quality products.

Our studio offers longarm quilting services, a large selection of 270 cm wide-back fabrics, economical 5-metre fabric packs, quilting kits, a thoughtfully chosen range of quilting notions, fabrics on the bolt, and a variety of waddings for your quilting projects.
