Class List 2019

Bag Classes Pattern - Quilt Table Runner

Classes 2019

General Information

Classes are held at a variety of times to fit in the the diverse lives we all lead. if the shop is generally shut at the time of the class the 'doors will open' at the time the class is scheduled to start, not earlier.

In most instances the classes cover information and give you time (with some homework) to create a quilt top or table runner top. The quilting and binding are done outside the class. Exceptions are the one day workshop when bags and cushions are completed in the one day and the quilt as you go raggy edge quilt.

Classes must be paid for in advance at the time of booking. If the classes are a series, a missed class still has to be paid for and can not be made up. If you are attending a class made by appointment with Karen, this must be paid in advance and if cancelled less than 48 hours prior to the class will not be refunded.

Please bring these to all classes.

Classes have a maximum of 6 attendees and are priced to reflect this. If there are small numbers in a class Karen may be running the shop at the same time.

Club 88 - (Cre8 8)

A continuing club for Rainbow Patchwork - 8 classes to make 8 projects.

This group will meet on the fourth Saturday of each month (and the previous Friday and Wednesday). Throughout the year 8 projects will be made.

Many techniques will be involved - foundation paper piecing, boro, pillows, bags with zips, fabric weaving. So it is a great way to try some different techniques on small items.

This photos shows some items - it will be updated as more items get made!

2019 planned projects are:

Mariners Compass Cushion (Feb Project)
Singlet Bag and Wefty prep (Mar Project)
Weaving and pouch making (April Project)
Key Hobbs  (May project)
Aprons (June project)
Star Table Runner (August Project)
Cork Wallet, Sashiko Star Prep - (September Project)
Scandinavian Stars, Sashiko Stars (October project)

All of these projects are or will be display at the shop. The classes are offered as part of Club88 before they are put on the general class list. If you are interested in this club phone to book in or come into the shop to look at the items you will be making.

Each session will cost $40 to cover tuition and the pattern &/or materials required. The projects differ quite widely, sometimes the materials will be included with the pattern, other times you will need to purchase fabrics.

There is also a $40 membership fee. This fee ensures your place in the monthly club meeting and can either be refunded or rolled over to 2020 if all 8 meetings are attended or paid for. If you cannot attend your usual meeting you it may be possible to slot into another club 88 group for that month, you will of course be receiving the pattern and any materials for the missed month. There are no specific make up lessons if you miss your session.
